As a follow-up to the previous GRASS GIS 7.8.5 we have published the new release GRASS GIS 7.8.6 with more than 145 fixes and improvements. This minor release offers new t.downgrade module that allows to downgrade the version of space time datasets created with GRASS development version. Importantly, this release comes with a critical bugfix: the addon extension manager has been updated to match new addon repository structure which solves issues found when installing addons in UNIX-like systems. Also r.external module received major speed-up.

The overview of new features in the 7.8 release series is available at new features in GRASS GIS 7.8. See also our detailed announcement with the full list of changes and bugs fixed at https://trac.osgeo.org/grass/wiki/Release/7.8.6-News.
